For Andreas and everyone else: Metal preset for G9.2tt

One of the readers of this blog inquired about a metal-preset for the G9.2, so I decided to share one of mine. I use this occasionally for heavy metal-rhythm guitar and riffing.
Its a more aggressive, a bit more synthetic-sounding preset. For more Maiden-style sounds, Id use a Marshall-type sound, but this one is supposed to be in your face.

So here are the basics. The settings for the tube-parameters are the same as I always use (I commented on those in some previous blog entries):

Preamp model: Rect_Mod
Compr: 4-6, depending on your taste, dont forget to use the ZNR, too
Gain: 75 or 80, I use the right pedal to fade it up to 100 for solos. Dont forget that too much distortion sometimes can take away some punch!
Bass: 6
Mid: 6 (I might drop this to 0 or even less for an even more extreme, metal-style scoop, so you might wanna try it)
Treb: 8
Presence: 7
Cab: Cond

I also use a slight delay that I can activate with one of the Function-buttons. Its at about 335 ms, with one repeat and a mix of about 20-25%, very ambient, and only used for solos, so I wont take away punch. Same goes for an optional room-reverb, used very slightly. Dont go overboard with delay, reverb or anything else.
What I DO use sometimes is an octaver (Mod/EFX2, Pitch Shift-12), mixed in just slightly (20-25 %) to fatten up the sound just slightly, so when I play riffs, it might sound a bit as if the lines are doubled by a bass. I heard Dave Martone do this, so I figured Id try it, and I use it.
Hope this was interesting for you!
Eric
